Hock1, I am fairly certain that any shorts that had done so in the low to mid $20's are already gone. Either because of loss limits or margin calls, I would guess many of those shorts closed their positions. New short positions will open as older losing short positions are closed if the new shorts see opportunity. In a similar way, many of our trusted old longs are gone and new ones have taken their place.

As evidence, you will notice new members (both long and short) on this board and a few old members that are no longer around.

WIth such a "bullish" sign such as Friday's huge option deal, why all of a sudden such a drop on Monday ??

Those trades are very perplexing indeed and as you stated none of the theories we all posted makes any sense today in light of the absence of the OI and the trading of the stock.

However, even what you suggested, that the trades somehow involves the shorts, is not easy to support in that the the reduction in the short interest of such magnitude, indeed of any significant size, would have a very positive effect on the stock price.

So for the time being I assume that whatever they did was such that the effect is negative But I don't have a way to explain it.
