Senior Application Developer A full-time position for Senior Application Developer with more then 6 years of object-oriented programming experience, including Java and J2EE. Candidates must demonstrate a strong knowledge of web programming as well as strong general programming skill.
A Senior Application Developer must be able to lead teams, mentor junior team members and have a deep understanding of requirements gathering, OO design and system archtiecture.
Candidates must also have a strong understanding of Agile development methods and have project-based experience applying these methods.
Candidates must also possess independent work habits and must have strong written and verbal skills. Candidates also should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and multi-tasking abilities and well as a demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technolgies quickly.
Required skills:
6 years of object-oriented programming experience. At least 3 or more years of Java and J2EE programming experience including JSPs, servlets, JDBC and Java-based web service implementations. 6 or more years of SQL and general relational database (RDBMS) knowledge: Oracle, Sybase or MySQL. Experience with SOAP-based web services. Proficiency with web servers and app servers: Apache, Tomcat and other J2EE Application servers. Experience working in a Linux or UNIX-based environment. Strong knowledge of object-oriented concepts. Strong communication skills. Strong problem solving skills.
Other skills:
Foreign-language skills (Spanish, Tagalog or others) are desirable, but not required. Basic skills with other web technologies like HTML, JavaScript and PHP.
The position may require occasional short-term, international and domestic travel.
