if the microsoft message is about the driver not being signed i would disregard it. why not create a system restore point install the driver from the ati website and see. you can always go back to the asus driver.
in CCC go to desktops and displays, right click on the display in the bottom wondow and select configure then scaling options
im assuming you tried various resolutions and it still exists
Try uninstalling CCC. You don't need it unless you plan on tweaking your video card. I found CCC to be horrible and the cause of many problems. There are better programs out there for overclocking your video card if you are into that. You can download and install the latest video card drivers without CCC. Look for the link on the ATI web site. Then just use windows to adjust monitor settings. In my experience, CCC was nothing but problems,
