Depends on the model but there should be a small button somewhere close to the pad.. Either that or go to control panel (Assuming you're using windows) and disable it from there.. Should be some sort of option to disable it.

I have a desktop, so no I don't have the problem.

If you find out how to disable the trackpad.. and you still have the problem.. Then you can do a couple things to see if someone is in your system. First would be to run a linux live cd. after booting up try typing something to see if the issue exists. If it does not then you know it is something in your operating system.. malicious or just annoying.. either way.

Next option would be to back up everything you have and do a fresh install of windows...

But I'd start with a linux live cd, providing disabling the pad doesn't work.

Not sure what OS you're running but if Windows you can try an update for the pad.

I've used their driver on a Win7 machine and it worked fine for me. They've got some caveats though about using it generically.

Installed an update for Vista the other day as part of the routine updates and now Outlook has a "lag" of about 5 seconds when switching folders. Not sure who is checking in on me now but it pisses me off. Almost like someone looking at what I do before I am. Nothing returned on scans or Malwarebytes or IObit either.
