OT. RWK, which USA are you talking about that has a (i assume long term) capital gains tax of 10%??? :)

as far as I know, long term capital gains tax is 15% and is scheduled to revert to pre-3003 law after 2010.

I don't want to advocate that one should give tax considerations undue weight in trading decisions, but the relevant measurement is not how low the long-term capital gains rate is but, rather, how much lower it is compared to the short-term capital gains rate. The highest marginal rate on ordinary income today is 35%, so the difference between taking a short-term gain and engineering a long-term gain is significant.
