#18834 RE: bgrateful #18832

Hey, I'm not a worry wort, when it comes to things like that. I'm new here on the scene, and just wondered about the possible claims that could happen over time, due to the "accidental" emission of microwaves, from the "gizzmo". Don't forget that this device can be mounted right near the shower, or sink, and will "run" when a person is close by. I think your findings for that post only spoke of any dangers when food is cooked via microwave. We all know that it's just molecular "agitation", that causes the heat. Some people(like my Mom for example), wrongly associate microwave ovens with nuclear radiation. All microwave products emit some harmful energy, in tiny amounts, through imperfections in the metal housing(seam areas, hinges, front door seals, etc.). These emissions are measureable, and the amount varies, with the product quality, production, age, etc. I think most microwave oven manuals plainly state, that you aren't advised to place your face right up to the glass/mesh door, and watch your food cook. As I say, this unit might be mounted at "groin" level under the kitchen sink, and the next thing you read about is "unexplainable sterility" in married couples, until someone ties the two things "together". Then, all of a sudden, no one wants to buy one. Just joking. But I'm sure the tests that are done, to make the product marketable, are fairly strict about unwarranted emissions.
