Years ago there was a visionary/inventor who discovered how to compress air and deliver it out a hose. It was the first pump. Only problem was that there were no automobile or motorcycle or bicycle tires around just yet. So his pump collected dust in his garage.
Then all of a sudden there were millions and millions of tires in the world. And so, the madcap visionary/inventor became wildly rich because he was prudent enough to have received a patent on his invention.
