As we already know and halfway understand. In physics, a quantum is the minimum unit of any physical entity involved in an interaction. Behind this, one finds the fundamental notion that a physical property may be "quantized," referred to as "the hypothesis of quantization". This means that the magnitude can take on only certain discrete numerical values, rather than any value, at least within a range. There is a related term of quantum number. Thus, looking at the value at which an asset is carried on a balance sheet. Calculating, taking the cost of an asset minus the accumulated depreciation, taking net asset value of a company, calculated by total assets minus intangible assets (patents, goodwill) and liabilities (dilution negative earnings you know cause and effect of a current companies situation)

Adding in the speculation of the current situation and the time frame in which the speculation effect will happen ( the fundamental quantum elements of the trade or investment)

Forecasting of future financial price movements based on an examination of past price movements in sucha manner have to have a chart in the mix.

Example: buyittrade saw great gadgets that certain company had, buyittradeit looks at the balance sheet, buyittrade doen't like what he sees. So the DD can not stop there. He looks back to the last time they had a new gadget and how that effected the share price. He then LOVED what he saw. So he takes a chance and starts a positions. Does this mean the company will have a better balance sheet just because they are coming out with a new gadget? No actually the "cause and effect" will be negative because statistically the company will spend more developing, researching, and distributing the new product.

So while practicing RoR (Reward to risk ratio of a new position.) We always have to take into account that even thought the current valuation of a companies stock will be adjusted when collective thought reacts to the current pps. Level2 (at least in the states) shows only buyers and sellers at a current time and has no real long term accountable effects on a stock.

1)Level 2 is great for day trading but is a variable not a constant. (However can help a long term trader enter into a long term position but only when looking at the longer term chart)

2) Using charts to what speculation (ie: new gadget, better returns from the companies investments in the new gadget and so on.)

==================================================================

Taking in account that the company will raise the capitol threw shares which may take the price lower (a constant). #1 Will be the best method in going into a long position. #2 is something we need to determine by looking at prior press releases and 8k's, 10q's and conference calls to see if we can find out what they are working on that will come out. (so we can enter before the news.)

==================================================================

Even though I broke down #1 and #2 into constants they are actually made up of many many variables. However, the main constant is always the chart. It just depends on the situation that will cause the "cause and effect" of the investment or trade. This explains to us the IPO's that drop. While there are always funders that collectively want to take profits and are never actually sure where a stock will be in a year because they have already been in the company well before the IPO (take V:VISA for example) they are simply made up of to many variables for the funders thus causing the initial fall in price However, the constant is the speculators that think the funds are being raised for the new gadgets. So if we wait a few days for the chart to develop we can see more of a constant change and reaction to the stock.
