From what we have glean so far, Ed has been one protected dude in this scandal.

I suspect he offered some very useful testimony.

When Surfit was subpoenaed to testify in the Barnett/Houser suit/counter suit by Barnett's attorneys; Houser managed to get the subpoena quashed by a California attorney and was quick to come to Surfit's defense. IMO, they were either in love (lol) or Surfit had Houser in a vice. Surfit and Squid both were shameless BMCS pumpers in the beginning and I'm sure he had lots of info about Houser's dealings.

Surfit may be an illiterate druggie, but I'd say he is pretty street smart.
