I don't know. Why do Buffett or Soros get up and go to work everyday? They're both billionaies and don't have to.

Maybe someone makes Fifer a "Godfather offer". One he can't refuse. Like I said he has other irons in the fire with PDI and his private mine now. What's to say he could just sell PTQ and get some other things going. In the meantime he becomes not just rich, but VERY, VERY, rich.

The other wild-card is the gold price. It's not going to be high forever. You sell an asset when you can get your best price for it. Right?

At some point Fifer may want to move on to newer things in life as do many shareholders. The sale of Petaquilla Gold, at higher prices of course, would provide all of us with new opportunities. Personally I would like to see the Molejon project as part of PTQ until it's depletion, but many companies with our profile get taken out. You make a great point about the tax benefits PTQ has. I think PTQ will exist as long as the taxes remain favorable and Azuero may play a big part in the company's future. Petaquilla Gold however seems to have a for sale sign on it as 1BP suggests. There are a lot of financiers within the company and I don't recall seeing or hearing statements about acquiring other companies. LT organic growth beyond 3 years is possible, but I don't see it as the endgame atm. Then again, who would be talking about acquiring other entities before servicing one's debt first?
