Well said, Snacks...

I just not ten minutes ago got home from Dallas... and there was an IM waiting for me about "John"... whose name I only knew as Yaya. I didn't know who the person was referring to.

I met him just once... at the last SHM. Since I've been over here on iHub, he PM-ed me a couple of times, each time calling me "Big Daddy" (I'm not anything close to a thin man.)

(Pardon a tangent: I spent some time with our new security software client today... talking about trusted computing. And now they want a briefing from the TCG. My client--a former client at i2--has heard a few things about Wave. One thing he's heard is: "The company wouldn't exist today were it not for the Wave community."

I heard those words over lunch in Dallas. "The company wouldn't exist today were it not for the Wave community." And I thought... what a strange... mysterious... wondrous... FACT.)

I think in this cyber-land, there is a feeling (partly because people BECOME the shape of their words and right down to the pauses and air between and within their sentences) that we're all IMMORTAL. This medium--typing words on a screen--reacting with words--happening SORT of like conversations, but SO different--this boiled-down, reduced, "impoverished" medium that borrows in form from BOOKS (BOOKS outliving the authors... printed words that seem TIMELESS)... bestows an illusion that YOU and I will never die. There can be no hard limit, no boundary... You can read me and I you forever, yes?
Yes...?

"Hey, Big Daddy, shoulda told me you were goin to Nawlins. I have lots of friends there. Coulda set ya up."

Big Daddy would've liked that, John.

So sad

I just read about YAYA. It feels like the clouds have covered the sun. A chill has come over me. A strong and strange reaction considering I have never met YaYA. It speaks volumes about you, YaYa, and this community.

So young, so much to live for, so sad. You will be missed, YaYa.

YAYA

Well stated Snackman.

YAYA was one of the posters I would always make a point of finding and reading. He will be missed.

Deepest regrets to his family and friends.

////////Right On, Snack..You eloquently stated what many of us FEEL...A feeling' for this community, and its inhabitants, that simply doesn't exist on any other board...period. We are extremely Unique in this respect, and whether we win or lose on the financial aspects of this community, we will have all Gained Much for the association. ..and as the clouds clear after Yaya's departure, we'll all be looking forward to meeting one another at our celebration party in Vegas...and if I had access I'd be performing a 'Victory Roll' and pointing the nose straight up, as we used to for a fallen comrade...Now, back to rooting Wavx UP...Best To All...Flyer'

To Snackman and fellow wave investors. What an honor it is to be invested in a company with such caring people. My husband and I were sad to hear of John's passing. Condolences to Yaya's family, friends and fellow friends through this website. May god bless John, his family, and each and everyone of our fellow investors. Anna
