I would guess production is limited and the no return policy is all based on Version 1.2 being on the short horizon.

The TPM is not $3.00, that's the reference guide, and the $4.00 price is the CD ROM. I suppose thats if you lose the supplied one.

As waverider implied, the only way to get a TPM from Intel is to purchase a board with a TPM.
