Realistically, the P's will be the canary. You still have to know that commons are still the last in line to be paid. The P's are just a safer bet.

Oh, I definitely think the commons will be getting paid, and I agree that it may end up being a greater return that prefs at this point. However, if a settlement were already a done deal, it'd be a guarantee that prefs would be getting paid, so we'd see them trading much higher than they are now. That's my main point.
