Marketing can still be done and it will have an effect on consumers. Always does. Many people I know ask me for PC advice and want to know that their PC has a Pentium/Intel inside. In most cases, they all do. But they don't even know what it means for them or what it even does. They don't really care other than what the marketing has told them.

I overheard someone in Circuit City ask whether a PC has USB ports. They all do. It still made me smile.
