Yep... Especially since the "gossip" was CONFIRMED by the FDIC.

Give it a rest already. This run was the same as every run. It's running on speculation, based on the hint of upcoming news. It'll likely run again between now and September 7. Just because it's running on speculation doesn't change the underlying facts of this case.

dgras0007 -- ok, so apparently The Wall Street Journal is some "gossip paper"

Ok. I gotcha! <not>

This run was an amazing pump. I must admit it was genius...somebody who knew somebody that knows somebody who posted in some gossip paper that WAMU was not sold and so on and so forth and began all the viral rumor. Beautifully done.

Oh, don't believe me?... Click here. Here's the article... In print. In the Wall Street Journal. Yesterday (8/19)

Dgrass0007 where did you see, hear or read something like that?

Or is it just your assumption!

Don't you think the timing is a bit off on your little theory? Love it or hate it, you need to make a REAL decision about your stance with WAMUQ and stick with it. Which one is it going to be?

To dgras ... with all due respect it wasn't a "viral rumor" but the culmination of some masterful DD-sleuthing (replete with Freedom of Information Act requests -- wow!!!) on the part of Boston at the Y board. He uncovered a critical fact that virtually no one else was aware of, and in doing so, he helped to put the whole transaction in a more proper perspective. The quality of what he uncovered was such that even The Wall Street Journal had to give him his props.

Perhaps you should too.
