I think most Yankee fans were shaking their heads today.

What would he have done if the front office hadn't made those trades?

Would Posada have played first so he could rest Teixiera?

It just made no sense whatsoever and if the Yankees miss out on the playoffs by one game, this is the game!

In retrospect, it may not have made a difference the way Shields dominated.

However, it still makes no sense not to go with your "A" lineup.

Other than sitting players for injuries, I can't remember when the Yankees did not field their best lineup in a Boston series.

The Rays' series had the same intensity and the game was managed as if the Yankees had a 10 game lead.

The regulars could have been rested against Toronto, in preparation for this weekend's series against Boston.
