I'll be honest. I really didn't follow him much at the Yanks, but he really seems to be a very mature, wise pitcher. He just knows how to play the odds...has very good control and pitch placement and doesn't try to overpower. Just reminds me of the good solid pitchers that have lasted a long time in the Majors.

What was the problem in NY? Was he hurt? I mean, it's not like he's 16-2 or anything, but he appears very solid...two complete games in a row now and he's 12-6 with a 3.26 ERA and since May 29 he's 8-1 and has 7 wins in a row and even in his loss he gave up a fairly respectable 4 runs in 7 innings.

Plus, the guy seems to be srong..he's 6 ft 5 and 250....no Ron Guidry physique and no disrespect to the great fireballer!! ;
