OT: Wade -- Scottrade

I have Schwab, Scottrade, and Ameritrade. My favorite is Schwab. It's a flat fee of $9.95 and I love the CyberTrader software. Scottrade is cheaper but does not allow me to trade stocks on the pink sheets. I have to call it in. BobWins is right about sub $1 stocks. For example, I paid $25 when I bought NWAU at 40 cents (which I had to call in). Ameritrade is $11 but I don't have real-time quotes (my account is in a trust name). I don't have check writing privileges with Ameritrade and I don't know why????

I also have a higher-level of confort with Schwab and Scottrade because there's an office (and a human-being) within a reasonable distance.

OT -- Bobwins and Wade

I switched from Scottrade to Lowtrades about six months ago. $5 flat commission including pennies. Broker assisted trades $25.

Drawbacks:

1) No ACH transfer-- mail a check and they hold it for six days before available.

2) Canadian and all foreign stocks (including ones with pk symbols) must be broker assisted.

It's not the most sophisticated trading platform, but worth the price.

I use BROWN ...

I use Brown and last year did over 2000 trades... I pay 5.00 per trade and really have no problems... The only feature I don't like is over 5000 shares the fee is 0.01 per share for the total amount (5001 shares would be $50.01)... also limit orders are 10.00... Coming from the industry it's the best I have found and have been a client since 1983... They handle disputes and have eaten several bad excecutions making bad trade prices right...also because I trade many inactive banks my bids and offers become the market...
