first of all if you have that canceled check you have the proof of payment and therefore could go after him for not providing the services or goods that were bought..

the 8300 needs to be filed if the transaction was over the 10 grand.. your personal check need not be filed but the transaction does.

but hey if you don't care that is all that matters.

what it seems like, is your not pursuing the lost 30 grand which IMHO sees really odd. Because i would be going after that in court.. even if I got to file paperwork myself. which is not hard.. you can file a subpoena for records and the paper trail

then possibly win the judgment with that and file with the county clerk for a garnish of wages.. i have used that in the past and its sometimes effective.

what I see on most these boards.. folks claiming they were ripped off for goobs of cash on a fly by night venture...and not pursuing the money..

you see i would be going after whoever took my money and didn't provide the services.

Long as you don't have a bankruptcy involved... if you do its a tad different.. sometimes you can still go after the principal.
