You don't get the difference between CASH and a wire transfer. The money in a wire transfer has already been scrutinized for money laundering (the reason for the law) Even a personal check in any amount is not considered CASH for the TOPIC under discussion which is a Form 8300.

Q: Is a personal check considered cash for reporting on Form 8300?
A: Personal checks are not considered cash.

Look at Filing Requirements #11

Now ONE COULD have a Form 8300 filed on them for so much as a 1 cent transaction (ordinarily no reporting required) IF the Suspicious Activity box is checked. But why would 20 grand sent to a 'respectable' lawyer like Lewis cause anyone to check the Suspicious Activity box on the form at Lewis's bank receiving the wire transfer?

1 cent transaction, though not a reportable transaction the Suspicious Activity box is checked -- form 8300 filed

1 million dollar wire transfer, not a cash transaction, no suspicious activity no Form 8300. Even a 1 million dollar personal check is not CASH so no Form 8300 required

Who cares anyway. This POS is dead and will be totally dead for trading purposes on Aug 2nd.
