Some thoughts: 3600 jobs in the US and jobs creation in the Middle East. Win/Win I guess...I hope they turn around an invest more back in the US as a result of this

Yes, it IS time for job creation in this country, and about 400,000 a month is needed to help make up for the damage of the past 10 years, and prevent a new wave of foreclosures which is building: this one due to entrenched long term unemployment

I'm an equal opportunity basher, and a registered Independent. Honestly, neither party has done a great job of delivering job creation to Main Street. Maybe it's seriously time for a new party

2011 is not shaping up to be a pretty picture, while homelessness, consumer bankruptcies and mortgage delinquencies quietly climb higher.

Last few days I've been digging into the numbers since the housing data and the jobs report came out, and what I'm finding is almost worse than 2008, if that's possible.

I think the only reason none of what I'm finding is on news lately, is that frankly, is that none of it IS news. It's all well known, only deteriorating from when we last checked.

Everyone is weary of bad news, and we need to turn that steady torrent of depression off in order to focus on the day to day. You can't blame anyone for sinking into denial, especially when there doesn't appear to be a real solution in sight while the obvious problems pile up.

As a nation, I believe we've become calloused from 3 years of losses and monthly reports of foreclosures. Tent cities, once thought to be a temporary phenomenon, are now entrenched features of the American landscape, to be disregarded if possible. There but for the grace of the employment gods go we.

Like troops too long on the front line, we try and ignore the whistle of bullets whizzing by our heads, and the sight of medics carrying out yet another casualty, even though that was our neighbor just a week ago.

Happy 4th everyone. You gotta focus on the here and now, because worrying about the future too much will drive you to curl up into a fetal position while you pop Xanax with vodka chasers.

Check with me next week, I'll be feeling a little cheerier. It may simply be sleep deprivation from too much Asia market watching this week.

The two companies that will receive the money from the president's $862 billion economic stimulus are Abengoa Solar, which will build one of the world's largest solar plants in Arizona, creating 1,600 construction jobs; and Abound Solar Manufacturing, which is building plants in Colorado and Indiana. The Obama administration says those projects will create more than 2,000 construction jobs and 1,500 permanent jobs.
