Good questions. As for number 4, I think Dean had no choice. Dates were set, public officials invited. To back out at this point would hurt QASP and Mineseeker. I really believe that Deans commitment to this date is an indication that He believed Mineseeker would be in the QASP fold by then.

Addendum: Backing out for financial reasons could have cost us all credibility. IMO
