Obviously the only way large volume can change hands w/o significantly moving the price is when the parties agree in advance on the price.
Consider, MMs like Roth Capital are also investment houses and may themselves have a long position in the stock for investment purposes. So MM's set up transfers of shares between consenting parties outside of the conventional bid/ask market.
Who knows who wants to go long new or trim their positions? Lots of possibilities.
