I imagine that a supplier that accepted shares in lieu of cash would not agree to any hold period. He has bills of his own to pay. Further, the supplier prob accepted a settlement of less than he was owed.

Insiders are holders of company shares that are not traded public, this determines what they call float, O/S shares minus insiders equal float.
