,,,,,,,Let me put it this way....Cleanup involves not only putting up orange vinyl booms but actual cleanup. There's "shoreline cleanup" and there's "offshore cleanup" the orange booms you see are only 10% effective in protecting the shoreline....MOPN does "land and water clean up"...provides 95% absorption and Just today MOPN's CEO stated "he has 3Deals pending. Further, the CEO states the cleanup on its face...is Months to years worth of work"
I've been in the oil pollution business from back in the "East Coast" Coastal Services days, Some 35+ years or so. I can't even begin to count how many types of absorbents we've tried out, that couldn't cut the mustard. That's why I told you a lot of the material on the market, back then and today was and is "smoke and mirrors" as far as I was concerned. After my conversation with you we decided to give it a whirl.
The material was put into an open top drum with water and a mixture of fuel oil and waste oil, stirred up daily for two weeks to see if in fact it would sink and or absorb the product therein. To our surprise it absorbed 99% of the oil and did not sink, it also appeared to have degraded a lot of the oil in the process. For extra measure, we dumped the remaining material thru a leaf net to see if your stuff would release some of the oil. Once again I was proven wrong, it held on as you told me it would.
We ordered a number of different types of absorbents from you to put to the test. So far the field test on actual spills worked incredibly well. In basements, swamps (wet lands), tank farm containments, and boomed off areas, your MOP® goes a long way. Not only does it absorb, it has great affinity to adhere as well, it picks up sheen rainbow that builds up behind the boom.
We also tested your bilge absorbents, which were very long lasting and effective. Used in the right application, this product does the job and does it well.
