Olibri,
Desparate times, dictate desparate measures.

I started saving for the future much much later than the average investor.

Mine started 5 yrs ago and I am 43 now. Do the math anyway you like and it spells no retirement anytime soon before age 80. I contribute probably 3 times what the average worker contributes on a monthly basis....percentage wise. one month each year I contribute better than 80% just to try and make up some ground. In the last five years, lumped together, average return rate just past 8%. So I can take my 401K out of high risk ETF's and put them into commom stocks (C or AIG or something comperable), not penny stocks, and make a much better return on my investment. Therefore helping myself along all the while still saving for that magic day.

I started a Roth IRA 2 months ago and although it does not have anywhere near the funds that my 401k has, it has gained 17.2% from one investment....C. Buying those shares at there level now will ensure a great return on my investment.

LVS at the levels I was buying last year would be up nearly 4 times the ask price. AIG 3X's.

Unfortunetly small investments make small returns. Big investment make wonderful returns.

Pennies are not the retirement maker. They are like the lottery in stocks. Liable to hit one but more likely not to hit one.

I like this one and hope someday it is the exception rather than the rule.

I have my 7-10 yr plan, 10 yr being most. I think it will work and I will let you know if it does.

End result is still the same that 401K has to come out to a IRA on some trading platform soon. Now or in 10 yrs one or the other.

Anyhow...........Welcome to Walmart can I help you?????

Ohhh and BTW nothing wrong with working at walmart..... know plenty of folks who work there.

Side note: If you can think of a better plan...please please enlighten me!!!!!!!

I am always up for new suggestions!!!!!!!!

Constructive criticism always welcome tooooooo!!!!!

Sorry Olibri.....just giving you the thought process....no sob story here......just the run down.

Ohh and my father said the same........DO NOT TOUCH THAT 401K!!!!!!
