Desparate times, dictate desparate measures.

I started saving for the future much much later than the average investor.

Mine started 5 yrs ago and I am 43 now. Do the math anyway you like and it spells no retirement anytime soon before age 80. I contribute probably 3 times what the average worker contributes on a monthly basis....percentage wise. one month each year I contribute better than 80% just to try and make up some ground. In the last five years, lumped together, average return rate just past 8%. So I can take my 401K out of high risk ETF's and put them into commom stocks (C or AIG or something comperable), not penny stocks, and make a much better return on my investment. Therefore helping myself along all the while still saving for that magic day.
