Quick couple of questions. Why would people use Wave Express? Also what are their adoption rates and revenue numbers.

I notice that the corporate office is in the city. But I know the one VP works up in the Berkshires. Where does the R&D happen?

Has anyone here used tripwire? Basically it's been in the Unix server world for years. Some of the posts talk about authenicating system changes, again why use Wave over something like tripwire which every Unix/Linux guy knows about.

Thanks for all the replies yesterday. There were a couple of enlightening ones.

Awk, I most certainly do agree with you. That is one of the few reasons I have hung on way past my bedtime with Wave.

Now why has the WaveXpress movie distribution failed to take off? Because of many things (of course), but the lack of a secure DRM has kept the content providers on the sidelines.

Will Apple have the same problem? We will have to see what Pixar has up its sleeves.

I believe that if WaveXpress were ported to the Mac for distributing Pixar content it would be a blockbuster. And it would force (competition is good) the PC world to embrace a more secure (TPM) platform to distribute movies too.

But I am an idealist and Atlas may have shrugged.

AWK TVTonic

Recall at the last CC SKS said they were working on something new on their own dime. Perhaps the DVR feature under TV Pick is what they are developing.

Awk, there is only one problem. Wave cut back on people at Wavexpress to focus on the TPM space. TVpick looks good for something in the future, but Wave needs to concentrate on showing something today. It does not seem that they would have recently cut back on resources at Wavexpress as stated on the last CC, if there were eminent and measureable opportunities at Wavexpress.

In my opinion, TVpick/Wavexpress is something that could get reconstituted when Wave gets traction in the TPM space and there are massive consumer TPM deployments.
