OT The fracking controversy is a mirage... industry has been using this technique for 60 years with no confirmed incidence of goundwater contamination. EPA has ruled on this issue in the past.
The biggest concern i see is the amount of water needed for the fracking of the shale wells... 2 million gallons of water / well.
Have met w/ companies wanting to gain water rights... and have written the conditions for approval for more than 120 natural gas wells.... oversee operations for 260 gas / oil wells
Boone is 70+ years old... got to admire his stamina. Much of this is an education process... people were afraid of those horseless carriages / airplanes, on and on. Knowledge is power and technology is now available to unlock resources heretofore not "reachable". I have seen it first hand.
Bottomline: the risks involved with horizontal drilling can be managed.
