Surely some could have been covered but if you count that the guys here bough a solid part of volume, its clear that with 48 % the pile of shorts got higher today.

That's correct. There were definitely a few extra shorts but how many were covered today during normal market making proceeds is not known. That's why people shouldn't get too excited about these FINRA daily reports....
