UVE insurance ops are in steep decline...


I went back over the past 4 quarterly income statements (including the Q4 results filed today) and here's what the company made (pre-tax) from its insurance operations (after stripping out net investment income, realized gains on investments, and foreign currency gains on investments) in 2009: Q1 $18.8M, Q2 $11.5M, Q3 ($0.3M), Q4 ($16.3M)(!). Not a pretty trend...


The comparable numbers from 2008 are: Q1 $22.1M, Q2 $17.6M, Q3 $10.6M, Q4 $12M.

UVE's gone down, but may go down more next week due to this, no?
