Clinton's reduction of the deficit took place because of wide spread farcical growth through fraud and he left with the country in a recession. In addition, most of the positive things he did for the country were very much "conservative" agendas. Don't get me wrong Bush and the Congress during Bush's time pissed me off. Congress for abandoning conservative fiscal discipline and Bush's strong desire to be seen as social conservative that he did not veto a bunch of the crap that crossed his desk.

Cyo, a few comments on your post.

"since hard right seems to be the ones making all the noise these days. " Talk about making noise! Obama made his 40th speach on healthcare yesterday.

"What they fail to realize is that everyone from left to right want fiscal responsibility and less government intrusion." Really!! The Left want more fiscal responsibility and less government intrusion? Hmmm.

"As for healthcare there are 2 options - do nothing and let it get worse." Every time I see this "do nothing" comment from the left, I wonder who, in the Republican Party, is saying we should do nothing? How about the option of doing healthcare reform incrementally instead of this massive bill. For instance, do we need to pass a Bill to stop Waste Fraud and Abuse in Medicare & Medicaid?

" unfortunately one side is hell bent on killing the bill through fear and misinformation. How can the other side seek middle ground? ". Let's take a look at fear and intimidation. Obama has said? -- Doctors don't treat diabetes because they don't get paid enough to do that. They can let it go and cut off a foot and bill the system $40,000. -- Doctors don't try and cure your child's tonsillitis because they get paid more for a tonsillectomy. --- Just yesterday the same person said to a crowd of supporters in Ohio.--- How many of you get health care through your employer? roar from the crowd nder this bill many of your employers will see savings of up to 3000%! They should be able to give you raises!!! roar from the crowd. Cyo. You're the numbers guy. If an employer is paying $5000 a year per employee, how much would he be paying when the costs are cut by 3000%? Oh, maybe he meant cut costs by a factor of 3000. Wow! That would mean health care would cost the Boss $1.67 per year per employee! Fear? misinformation?.

"The right with a presumption of America being #1 in everything need to get a grip on reality." Back at cha on that grip on reality thing.
