At issue for anyone betting on Washington Mutual is whether the $6 billion-plus it’s receiving today will leave anything for common shareholders. Washington Mutual had about $8.3 billion in liabilities as of January 31, according to its 8-K filing with the SEC on February 26.
Now that seems to be the math question left after today. It doesn't seem like it after seeing what is owed to creditors.
