I will answer that but i think but you know the answers. newsflash, this is a pretty tight board, we see pretty clearly.

how do you think the oil companies got so rich? by covering their costs, selling for losses? No , selling for profit, of course. CVX stayed in this since drilling in 2006 to see what the other operators would find. My guess is they may not disclose the agreement, we still don't know the Addax/Anadarko agreement in block 3. My guess is that Anadarko is to receive profits. Oil companies move on, they have other projects and since the chinese are the major player, they raise money and move elsewhere to other projects.

Actually what Chevron sells Block 1 for is irrelevant. Chevron would have to spend billions in building infrastructure or pay someone to transport the gas and collect the oil using someone else's facilities. Total on the other hand already has the facilities in place. So what may be next to worthless for Chevron could be worth a few billion to Total. So as you can now see, you can tell NOTHING by what Chevron sells their interest in block one for.
