You can say in some measure that the decline in Bear Stearns price cause "concern" and red flags about the company's health, and cause a run on the bank as hedge funds (including ours) pull significant $$$ out of prime brokerage accounts domiciled at Bear Stearns. So it had a contributory cause/effect relationship - but in no way is solvency of the company determined by stock price. The are coincident - i.e. if your company is in need of cash a fat stock price allows you many non debt financing options.
