I totally agree, jail, forfeiture of ill-gotten gains and financial penalties is what Matt deserves for what he did. But just because we hate the sin is no reason to hate the sinner.
We are all vulnerable to temptation. There but for the Grace of God, etc. I think I would never do such a thing, but who can say for sure what anyone is capable of, even themselves, given the right circumstances. Certainly Matt deserves whatever he gets, but I feel no less sorry for his ruined life than I do for the victims he scammed. It is a lose/lose situation. Sorry, LG, but I simply cannot rejoice in any aspect of it.
