Of course there is a way to fight naked shorts but it only works if you have enough cash. The ultimate weapon against naked short positions is to pay cash dividend!!!
If the company has enough cash they should reduce the freefloat as far as possible through buyback-program and pay maximized cash dividends. Even the air-shares will get the divi but the seller and not the company has to pay for it!!!
Naket short seller have to cover if they don't want to pay regular divis out of their own pocket!
