#220614 RE: Ranb2khz #220613

Sheesh. There's no naked short JBII to speak of and when there have been fails, which are not necessarily short fails, they can be long fails, it's been covered within days.

It's never been on the Reg Sho Threshold list which means any fails have been less that half of one percent of the outstanding.

Can't have naked shorts without FTDs.

#220852 RE: Ranb2khz #220613

The MM's are the primary shorts on a stock that can't be shorted by retail investors....it's the MM's job to "make a market" for the brokerages that hire them. If buyers show up with few sellers, the MM's sell them shares the MM's don't have...legally. They must eventually replace those shares from sellers, but they can do it over time.

That's why some days you see "all buyers" and other days "all sellers". On the latter days the MM's replace the stock they didn't have for the buyers. You can argue they may manipulate the price (fill the gap, for instance?) to get cheap shares to replace the ones they sold, but the better the company fundamentals and buyer interest, the less able the MM's can do the manipulation.

If you think the MM's "will be crushed" if they are short, think again...they are professional traders and do it all day every day the markets are open. The odds are in their favor...especially with Pinkie and OTC stocks that haven't proven themselves yet with profits.
