One of those partitions should be very small

It would be the restore function info placed on the hard drive in lieu of giving you a Windows disk. It is the standard for laptops and you need to keep it the way it is.

Just make sure you know what's on the D drive and that you have a recovery CD or DVD in case things go wrong.
