WAMUQ had 233,301,635 shorts on Sept 30, 2008... two weeks later, official reports indicate over half the shorts already covered, with 109,950,595 shorts remaining on Oct 15, 2008.
Now, some 16 months later, there's "only" around 42 million shorts remaining... When did these other SMART shorts cover??? I say it was when many posters were claiming "shorts covering" during the previous MM-aided pull backs at .02, .05, .10, etc... BUT you are apparently of the opinion that shorts never have covered, yet official records clearly indicate hundreds of millions of shorts have already seen the light and prudently closed their short positions...
So, whose "theory" about shorts covering is closer to the truth??? I have factual, official numbers backing my "theory." (see above link)
NOW only greedy shorts that thought they'd never have to cover remain, panicked at the specter that global settlement may cause a margin call which they can ill-afford.
Henceforth the shrill tones and denials of truth by a few posters... hmmmmmmm
