Again I will shut up about Bush but it amuses me to remember all the incredible derogatory comments about Clinton that used to appear on many investment threads. Comments that make my views about Bush look tame by comparison. And Clinton got over 50% of the vote.

And as I said earlier, foreign perceptions of Bush have a big impact on our markets like it or not. And those perceptions are not favorable in many cases right now. Perhaps that is one reason why this bear has been more severe than many expected.

i'm pretty sure i know what you're trying to say, but that statement is clearly untrue since half of all Americans didn't even bother to vote. neither Gore nor Bush can claim any sort of overwhelming support from the populace at large.
