i think gyns are going to come around. the major limiting factor cited by most is time, but at the end of the day it makes no sense to risk even one pt turing up with a cancer that could have been prevented - both ethically and financially (malpractice). the company is hoping to address this by disseminating informational materials that the docs can just hand out to pts, and emphasizing that the follow up visit is billable
yes - it is unnecessarily convoluted. i don't think it's much of a factor frankly. there are far simpler guidelines out there that are easier to remember, and importantly insurance does not set the bar for reimbursement based on ACOG guidelines
