Monsanto and Indian farmer suicides:

Doubts surround link between Bt cotton failure and farmer suicide

http://www.nature.com/nbt/journal/v27/n1/full/nbt0109-9.html

Cormac Sheridan

Abstract

Results from a new investigation into the tragic phenomenon of Indian farmers' suicides and the alleged link with genetically modified (GM) cotton have been published. The International Food Policy Research Institute's (IFPRI) analysis released in October provides the most robust evidence yet that suicide among farmers in India has several causes, but Bt cotton is not a major factor.

Monsanto & GMO seeds in Iraq

In occupied Iraq, it is now illegal for farmers to plant anything except GMO seeds

according to site below your claim is bogus. if you have substantive evidence to the contrary i'm sure we'd all love to see it. There's no shortage of claims such as yours.

"...given the choice, cattle won't touch GMO feed."

Got a source on that? The ruminants I know don't appear to so discerning. One of the joys of being a delicious ruminant, I suppose.

Re: GM seed in India

"In India, Monsanto reportedly gave the first year's worth of seeds to the farmers essentially for free, promising they would require less water, less pesticides, fertilizers, etc, but the opposite turned out to be true. Once the farmers were hooked on the GMO seeds, Monsanto then jacked up the prices. Being unable to afford the expensive seeds and fertilizers, huge numbers of Indian farmers committed suicide. There were articles all over the internet news sites about it, though I guess not much in the mainstream US press. "

So you claim that the crops were so bad with the GM seed that the farmers committed suicide?

And then after that they were "hooked" on the stuff.

Do you realize how completely stupid this argument is?

And BTW, I did not know that cows can read.
