ECSC Top Picks Voting

You might find that if everyone lists 10 picks that there isn't a clear differentiation between a #1 pick and a #10 pick. While perhaps more complex, you might consider weighting a #1 pick different than a #10 pick, similar to how sports rankings works.

It wasn't so much an issue last time around because only top 3 picks were listed. The difference between a #1 pick and #10 pick is likely to be greater than the difference between a #1 and #3.

Just my thoughts....

RE: ECSC Top Picks voting

Eligibility: I'd suggest all stocks that are subject of this board, as specified by CSP in the rules etc.

Who can vote: I think anyone, incl. those that are mostly only lurking. Excluding newly created accounts, the account age is on the profile. This is certainly not Yahoo where most people seem to have a dozen aliases but with the growing popularity of this board you never know. Maybe an account age of 3 months minimum?

Voting Interval: I believe CSP posted the consensus is quarterly after earnings and this also makes the most sense to me.

Technical stuff: To make it easier to harvest the votes, whoever collects them could make a sticky and votes are posted as a reply to this sticky only.

derek2000: if as many as 10 picks are allowed then I'd agree with Jman9000 .... each individual should be permitted to weight or rank their own picks, perhaps on a scale of 1 to 10 .... then we'd need some sort of formula for aggregating the total weighting for the master index.
