I don't think I was comparing IDCC to Google. I will put it this way Apple has someone else manufacture their phones but they are a licensee. It may be that Google even though HTC will manufacture could still licenses.
Now for a few facts. IDCC presently has no debt and about $10.00 a share cash. They are in a patent infringement dispute for 3G with Nokia. IDCC worldwide has about 12,000 patents in the wireless industry. IDCC presently has 55% of the 3G market licensed and paying. In the first 2 quarters of next year they will have over $14.00 per share cash if they do not even license a single new licensee. They will probably earn around $3.00 a share without a single new licensee. The machine to machine revenues will just start to be rolling in. The IDCC technology will be applied to a lot of things in your everyday life, like meter readings, laptops netbooks, notebooks just to name a few that will need a license.
You know what happens to a small potato they grow into big potatos. You do the math of what percentage gain if Google goes to $650.00 with a 25 P/E, and you apply a 25 P/E to IDCC right now, and then you factor new license from Nokia, who will pay, in my opinion, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Huawei and we are talking back payments and serious ongoing or fixed royalty payments. A company with no debt few shares 43 million with authorization to retire a 100 million worth of the shares which would reduce the amount to around 40 million. How much is earnings of $3.00 and a 25 P/E oops I forgot what if we get all those other licensed and paying, any idea what earnings would be then, and then you add all the non cellular wirelss revenue, oops that damn potato may actually be growing a whole lot faster than Google. I am not in anyway saying a thing about Google great company and I hope they go to $700.00 a share but that should pale compared to where IDCC should and could go percentage wise, and percentages is what counts not price.
I strongly suggest you look into the little potato patch and maybe try to get them while they are small still.
