Olddog, re: IDCC's inability to sell puts...
I admire Mickey's spirit, but he does, at times, drive me to the point of extreme frustration. At the risk of unjustifiably encouraging him with respect to IDCC selling puts (and in spite of Janet Point's seemingly definitive answer to the negative), I vaguely recall another poster on this board asserting that QUALCOMM had sold QCOM puts in a corporate capacity at some time in the past. Unfortunately, I can't remember the poster's screen name or date(s), and I'll be first to admit I may be mistaken.
With your terrific investigative skills, could you look into whether QCOM corporate did in fact sell puts and also generally into a corporation's current legal capacity to trade derivatives of its own stock? I'm convinced that Janet's assertion that officers of a coprporation are prohibited from trading that corporation's drivatives for their own account, but I'm not certain about a corporation trading same for its own account.
If you already answered my questions, I apologize, and please direct me to any relevant posts.
