We have, I believe, more colleges in a relatively small geographic city, than anywhere in the world. That's why you have these incidents. The riots are not like the ones in Detroit, where there are issues of poverty, race and class at work, and sports gives an outlet. In Boston, it's more the case of drunk college kids and those in local bars joining.

The cops are pretty decent but those coordinating need to limit the drinking in the area, but, of course, that would hit the economy. This is predictable and can be stopped but it's tough. Most of it starts off as sort of good natured but a couple of bad apples are always there to start a little fire.
