Weby...Nobody who watches charts likes to leave a gap open.
However, while a common gap or a exhaustion gap would have to be filled, a breakout gap or a runaway gap may cause your trading great harm if you'd wait for it to close. I am not saying that Wave will not see $1.11 again, just that this type of gap does not always close, nor does it need closing. FWIW.
