Actually, if anything is going to put you in a lawyer's office/coutroom, it would be what you just did. You just acknowledged that you have what very well may be insider information, and did not make the information common knowledge.
If you had told everyone, it wouldn't be insider information. The company you received the information from would likely be none-too-pleased, but they would be under far more scrutiny than you would be.
Next time you find out any under the table information, that may or may not be insider information, if you aren't going to tell everyone, I would sure as hell not go posting advertising the fact that you do.
