Ah Gungrey, I hope you didn't think I meant you didn't have the savy to moderate. All I was saying to make a board successful, it really takes a special person who is able to suck up a lot of things with out letting things completely to him and drive him one crazy. He's got to be a very consertive guy that is not prone to be radical. Jim's a pretty down to earth, steady guy that rarely does a knee jerk reaction.
Yesterday is one of the few times I have seen Jim so angry and actually I think for good reason. Pretty excellent track record. The only thing I thought Jim should have done was to discuss the infraction in private email first as none of us like to get slammed right in front of our peers. Makes us resentful and we tend to strike back without thinking. If private email doesn't work then the public thing is the last alternative, I suppose. Still other than that one suggestion, I won't pretend to tell Jim How to run his board as I imagine he's had problems here I have never thought of.
I'm not saying Jimlur is the only one here that could run this board, but there are a whole bunch more that can't than can. I don't expect him to give this one up unless the premium board gets too demanding. If Jim's time becomes limited and he has to give up one of the boards, I can betcha he will be very selective in picking a moderator that he believes can safely and effectively run the board. He started this board and it's his baby until he doesn't want it any more and I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't want to continue it, he would shut it down and suggest someone begin a new public free board.
Again Gungrey. I haven't seen you post much and you might make one heck of a good moderator and you seem a really good guy so I want to assure you that I wasn't directing the post to you. Great suggestion on loop as a moderator, but I would bet he neither has the desire or the time. On your last pick as a moderator? Oh my!! That would be like giving a gun to the scrawney little kid that got picked on in grade and high school and wouldn't have the slightest idea of how to control anyone else much less his self or run a board. Inside of 6 months with him running it, I believe the board would be down to one member. Not a slam on him, that's just the way he is... and don't get upset m3s as I don't have the personality to run it either. May not be right, jmo. Take care. .. nic
